Scott is passionate about creating comic books and mentoring others in the craft.
Celsys, the creator of the popular art program Clip Studio Paint, engaged Scott to develop a series of instructional videos for their YouTube channel. The resulting series, Clip Studio Paint Quick Tips, showcases Scott demonstrating essential comic-creation tools in a clear, concise, and approachable format.
A Powerful Team-up
Scott collaborated directly with Celsys to identify the topics for each video, ensuring that each lesson built upon the previous one.
He wrote full scripts detailing how he would demonstrate each tool during the videos and obtained approval from the team.
A Solo Quest
Scott’s comic studio space served as the filming location. He set up cameras, lighting, and microphones for the shoots.
During filming, Scott performed the script while creating the art on screen, clearly pointing out each step of the process.
Afterwards, he color-graded the footage, edited the videos to approximately two minutes (these were “quick” tips), mixed the sound, and added motion graphics to ensure a professional feel.
